The aerospace sector in the Berlin-Brandenburg region is supported by three core companies: Deutsche Lufthansa AG with branches of Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services in Schönefeld, MTU Aero Engines with MTU Maintenance in Ludwigsfelde, and Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd. & Co. KG located in Dahlewitz. The business portfolios of the three core companies are spread over a wide spectrum from aircraft and engine maintenance to international cooperation in the development of complete propulsion systems. As a result of spin-offs or relocations, a dense and diverse network of suppliers has developed around the core companies in the past few years.
