1990 to date

After reunification, the works became the property of the Treuhand, a privatisation agency, and were renamed Schwermaschinenbau AG Wildau (SMB). In the course of privatisation three independent firms took shape. They were Gröditzer Kurbelwelle Wildau GmbH, Sondermaschinenbau Wildau GmbH and EAW Energieversorgungs- und Anlagenbau GmbH Wildau. A large number of other companies have since set up in business on the site.

1995
University of Applied Sciences Wildau (TFH Wildau) moved on to the site.
Engineers have been trained in Wildau for more than 55 years.

2000
Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Wildau GmbH (Technology and Start-up Centre) (TGZ Wildau) was set up.

2003
Schönefelder Kreuz Aerospace Technology Centre commences operations.
The entire complex today is highly attractive with its optimal location and direct access to the autobahn and S-Bahn train network. Its proximity to the future Berlin-Brandenburg International (BBI) airport opens up further prospects as a high-growth Brandenburg technology park (see How to Get Here).
