Aerospace Technology Centre IV (ZLR IV)

In October 2010 Fraunhofer Research Institution for Polymeric Materials and Composites PYCO opened its new pilot plant in the Aerospace Technology Centre IV (ZLR IV) in Wildau. It is the second pilot plant of Fraunhofer PYCO in Wildau. The new building was financed by the Regional Economic Development Agency Dahme-Spreewald mbH.

Fraunhofer PYCO installed on 900 sqm a multifunctional impregnation and coating plant for research and development works for extremely light and novel fiber reinforced materials, in particular for applications in aerospace.

The installation engineering is worth more than 2.5 million Euros. With this new impregnation and coating plant Fraunhofer PYCO is able to assist small and medium sized companies in the German capital region, Germany and beyond in their developments. Fraunhofer PYCO is already working with companies of the German capital region in research projects, e.g. Rolls-Royce, Stemme AG, Astro- und Feinwerktechnik, InnoMat, Dr. Mirtsch, Dynea and Berliner Nanotest.
